Cristiano Ronaldo last played for Manchester United in a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League at Villa Park on November 6, 2022.
Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United claims that the club has betrayed him, that he is being forced out, and that he has no respect for manager Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo signed a two-year contract with Manchester United in August 2021 to return to the club where he won eight major trophies between 2003 and 2009. Ronaldo previously played for Juventus.
Ronaldo was questioned on Sunday in an interview with Piers Morgan for TalkTV that was made public and asked if the United hierarchy was attempting to force him out of the club.
“Yes, not only Ten Hag, the coach, but also two or three other club members. He declared, "I felt betrayed."
"Yes, I feel betrayed, and I felt like some people didn't want me here, not just this year but also last year," the author asserts.
Ten Hag said that Ronaldo refused to play as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur last month. The forward left the bench and walked down the tunnel with a few minutes left in the game.
The following Saturday, he was not in the team that played Chelsea.
The forward, who is 37 years old and will be captaining Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar, described Ten Hag as:Because he doesn't treat me with respect, I don't respect him.I will never respect you if you do not respect me."
When Reuters contacted United for comment, the company did not immediately respond.Ten Hag stated that Ronaldo remained "an important player in the squad" following the Tottenham match.
When Ronaldo's daughter was taken to the hospital in July, he claimed that Manchester United did not support him. When he didn't show up for preseason training on time, he claimed that the club had doubts about him and didn't care about him.
He stated, "I believe the fans ought to know the truth."
I want the club to succeed.I came to Manchester United for this reason.
"But you have some things inside that don't help us reach the top level like City, Liverpool, and even Arsenal... I think a club with this size should be at the top, but they aren't, unfortunately."
Ronaldo worked for United for the first time under Alex Ferguson, who left the job in 2013.The Portuguese claimed that Ferguson shares his perspective on the club.
I saw no change in the club since Sir Alex Ferguson left. There was no progress.Ronaldo stated that "nothing had changed."
He is more aware than anyone else that the club is not moving in the right direction.
He is aware.Everyone is aware. They are blind because the people who don't see that don't want to see.
Additionally, Ronaldo was critical of the club's decision to appoint Ralf Rangnick as manager in place of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a former teammate of Ronaldo's.
Rangnick took over at Old Trafford after quitting his position as head of sport and development at Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.
Ronaldo stated, "They bring sporting director Ralf Rangnick, which is something nobody understands after the club sacked Ole."
He is not even a coach, this guy.The fact that such a large club as Manchester United employs a sporting director surprised not only me but the entire world.
