Elizabeth II of England:A photographer had previously stated that the deceased monarch did not like having her hands photographed.
Late England's ruler Sovereign Elizabeth II had a staff to deal with her every need except there was something specific that she generally needed to do herself.Gyles Brandreth, a writer and broadcaster, revealed that despite many people offering to carry her umbrella for her, Queen Elizabeth insisted on carrying her own.
Gyles Brandreth talked about meeting Queen Elizabeth II when she was 20 years old and visiting Oxford University's prestigious debating society in 1968.
Gyles Brandreth stated, "When she had gone, I reprimanded William Waldegrave (the Oxford Union President, now Baron Waldegrave) for not carrying the monarch's umbrella for her as he escorted her across the courtyard in the rain." Gyles Brandreth was referring to the Oxford Union President.
"He stated to me, "The Queen always insists on holding her own umbrella."Gyles Brandreth continued, "If someone else holds it, the rain falls down her neck."
A photographer had previously stated that the deceased monarch did not like having her hands photographed.According to Rankin, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly told the photographer, "I don't like my hands," when he asked her to pose with a sword for a portrait.
According to Rankin, "I really want to photograph you holding the sword" and "I don't like my hands" were her responses. "I thought that was the best get out of holding the sword."
The photographer continued, "I'm probably not supposed to say that."
